S.Sgt William “Wild Bill” Guarnere

April 28th 1923 – March 8th 2014

William Guarnere was born on April 28th 1923 in South Philadelphia, PA. He grew up during the recession of the 1930’s. After Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Japanese, he stopped school and went to work at the Baldwin Locomotive plant where they built the Sherman tank. His mother begged him to finish school  so he could get his diploma. He decided to combine his work with school and he got his diploma, his mother was very pleased. Read more


Lets us remember the veterans who passed away last year, 2013. Not only them who were close in our hearts because of their "fame". But also them who were not so known because they were not mentioned in the tv-series, books, etc..
